The Full Story

Hello! My name is Darin Nakakihara. I am an elementary educator from Southern California and I’m passionate about helping teachers live their best teaching lives. With experience teaching 4th and 5th grade and as a district TOSA, I have spent my career in education supporting new and experienced teachers in addition to lifting up as many students as possible.

I earned my Masters in Educational Technology and I’ve been recognized as my district’s Teacher of Promise, OCCUEs Outstanding Emerging Educator and recently I was awarded the Digital Innovator of the Year at the Impact Driven Teacher Conference in Miami. I am honored to serve as a Google Certified Innovator (SWE17) and Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert. I was the local keynote speaker at the Gates Foundation, Better Together California Teachers Summit and I’ve also presented at ISTE Chicago, National CUE, Las Vegas Google Summit and the OC CUE conference.

I live in Laguna Niguel with my wife, Denise and three daughters; Madison, Brooklyn and Kendall.  I love to go to the movies and go fishing.
